This website is your one-stop-shop for innovative research and resources created by our graduate students studying to work with individuals who are blind or visually impaired. NIU prepares future Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialists (COMS), Certified Vision Rehabilitation Therapists (CVRT), Certified Assistive Technology Instructional Specialists (CATIS), and Teachers of Students with Visual Impairments (TSVI/TVI).

**ANNOUNCEMENT**

Northern Illinois University and the AER Accreditation Council announce a 30-day public comment period for comments regarding the accreditation review of NIU's Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) program. Comment period will close at 11:59 p.m. Eastern on January 5, 2026. Send questions or comments to: accreditationinfo@aerbvi.org. All comments will be kept in strictest confidence.
